Why I love Autumn! 🍂🍂🍂

🍂Autumn is here 🍂

If I am completely honest autumn is my favourite time of the year! It's not quite winter, it's when the leaves turn orange, the candles come out, fluffy jumpers are an essential and the smell of baking fills the room. I love being able to wear cosy clothes, jackets, boots and scarves! You cant forget the colour's, burnt orange, red, yellow and green. I can't express how much I love it!

The smell of cinnamon, spices, leaves fill the air. The scenery looks so beautiful. I really like the way you can wear just a jumper because it's not too cold out and also I like how fluffy coats come back into fashion and turtle necks. And the makeup ohhhh the makeup!  My favourite part! The plumb berry lips, copper eyes! ahhhh I love it! I can't wait to start doing blogs on makeup looks, and also fashion blogs! Another thing I love is the fact Halloween is near and it also means that Christmas is getting closer (63 days to be exact) besides that I just love all things Autumn and just being able to wrap up warm and have nights in with movies and food with that special someone (if you have one). Enough of be blabbing on! I basically love Autumn and everything about it! What's your favourite season?

Everyday Makeup!

Everyday Makeup

So for today's blog I thought I'd give you a low down on how I do my everyday makeup!

So first of all I start off with my clean and clear advantage facial cleanser or my garnier micellar water to clean my skin and remove any excess dirt or oil. I will then apply some of my simple toner on a cotton ball to my face, also apply my simple under eye cream to my eyes.

As for primer I will start off by using my Nivea men's post shave balm, and once this has gone tacky I then apply my W7 prime magic camera ready primer to the areas where I have large pores and also my T zone. Once I have let this sit I will go ahead with my foundation, which is the L'Oreal infallible 24h matte foundation, I will buff this into my skin with a buffing brush until it's all blended well. Once I have done this I will then go in with my Freedom eyebrow pomade on a angled brush and fill my brows. I'm one for doubling things up so I then go in with my collection lasting perfection concealer and apply this to my eyelids as a primer. I tend to use a variety of eye shadow pallets; the one I reach to the most is my freedom pallet! I will choose an eye look and go for it, I never do the same one again each day.

Once my eye look is complete I will go under my eyes with the collection lasting perfection concealer and blend it in with my beauty blender. Once this is done I go in with a great hack and I apply baby powder under my eyes to bake. While this is baking I either go in with my cream contour kit (not sure of the name) or my powder one by Primark and define my cheekbones, sometimes I use both if I am going for a more dramatic look. I will then move on to covering any spots I have with the same collection concealer! I will then go in with my sculpt and bronze duo by MUA and bronze up my face. Finally I will remove the bake and curl my eyelashes with my Barry M curlers and I will then go in with my Maybelline push up drama mascara and apply this to my top and bottom lashes. I will then set my foundation with my Maybelline stay matte powder and finish it all off with a few sprays off my Urban Decay De-Slick setting spray! If I am going to wear a lip colour I will go between Mac's Velvet Teddy and Stone by Mac or if not I will just use some lip balm. OH and I can't forget HIGHLIGHTER and this is my MUA Shimmer Highlighter in Iridescent Gold and I will apply this too my cheekbones, eyebrow bone, and cupids bow. I'm sorry this isn't the best description but hopefully I will be doing a full YouTube video of my everyday makeup more in depth.

Oreo Cheesecake

No bake Oreo Cheesecake!!

This has to be one of my favourite things to make! If you want to treat yourself I recommend making this! You can make it to share, for a party or eat it all yourself if you want! You don't need much because it's really rich but it tastes so so good! I have made this for a few people and they have really liked it and I have also made it for my family and it's gone down so well! So here is a recipe if your looking to make it yourself.
What you will need
Base
  • 20 Crushed Oreos
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
Cheesecake filling
  • 170 g cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 300g powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 300g double cream
  • 15 Oreos, chopped
Topping
  • 6 Oreos, some crushed and some chopped
Instructions
To make the crust:
  1. Add the Oreos to a bag and seal it tight, use a hard object to bag the bag to crush all the Oreos. Add the melted butter and mix in a bowl until all of the crumbs are moistened and begin to form a stiff mix.
  2. Scoop the mixture into a 9" tin (you can line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper beforehand to make it easier to remove) and firmly pack it down into one even layer. Transfer to the refrigerator to chill while you make the cheesecake.
To make the cheesecake:
  1.  In a large mixing bowl using a hand-held mixer, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until well combined and smooth.
  2. Beat the double cream until it becomes really thick and forms peaks. Add in the chopped Oreos and gently fold in the cream and cream cheese until just combined.
  3. Remove the base from the refrigerator and scoop the cheesecake filling onto the base and gently spread it around into an even layer.
  4. If using the topping, add the extra chopped Oreos on top and gently press them down a little.
  5. Cover tightly and transfer back to the refrigerator for 4-5 hours or overnight.
  6. Remove the no-bake cheesecake from the pan, slice and enjoy!

Favourite Scent Over Summer

Zara - Lilly Pad

This has to be my favourite scent over the summer!
ZARA has some really good perfumes and if I'm honest the price is really good too!

There was many that I tried to see which one I liked the most and yes they all smell really good but this one stood out for me the most! It's such a good scent and for only £5.99 for 30ml is really good! I almost used it every day and I still haven't used up the whole bottle.

So summer is all about sun, beaches, fruit cocktails, and bright colours. This perfume has a fruity aroma and it's definitely long lasting. The website says the scent is - Fruit cocktail-Tangerine-Wood-Vanilla-Praline. All these together are really beautiful and I wore it all the way through summer. I would also say this would be a great scent for autumn and I think I will be wearing through to winter. If you're looking for a sweet and fruity scent then this one is for you. However if you're not the biggest fan of a fruity smell then you should definitely check out some of their other scents. If you're looking for a floral scent I recommend ZARA White, or if you're looking for something Oriental then I recommend ZARA Black. I will definitely be repurchasing this again because I find it such a beautiful scent and it's now one of my favourite perfumes.

Autumn Inspired MUA Palette

 MUA'S - Romantic Efflorescence Palette

This is such a beautiful palette! The shades are so autumnal with some lovely deep plumbs, to glittering coppers! This is the ultimate autumn palette.

I was in my local Superdrug looking for a cleanser and me being me I will always come out with some sort of makeup product! When I already know I have too much! I'd seen this palette before, however put of buying it because I know I have way to many palettes and didn't need another one! But seeing it again and the same palette catching my eye, meant I had to get it, it had to be fait! And for £4 it's a no brainer!! It's so worth the money that you pay! Again like their highlighter, there is almost a covering on each showdown that you need to rub away before the shadows become pigmented. Out of all the colours in the palette the copper shade really caught my eye. I think this is because I have blue eyes and shades like this really compliment them, so I was all up for trying it. If you too have blue eyes this pallet is definitely for you!

You can create a wide range of eye looks from subtle daytime, to daytime glam, to full out night glam. That's what I like about this palette most, because there is a range of light to dark shades which means you can create a wide variety of looks for different occasions.

I am very fond of the MUA palettes are I currently own a few of them. This is down to the quality. Their makeup is such good quality and the pigmentation is really good! The eye shadows are long wearing and with a really good primer underneath they will last all day! I would definitely recommend to a friend or anyone looking for a really good pallet for good money this one and the other pallets the brand does! Because the quality and the price is just so good and you would be a fool not to have one in your collection.

So if you are looking for good quality makeup on a budget then I would definitely say check out MUA because they do a wide variety of makeup from brushes, foundation, setting spray, lipstick etc.

Great winter jumper for only £6!

Winter Jumper

I took a well earned trip last week to town and after seeing some YouTube Primark hauls I was really looking forward to going into Primark to look at their new autumn fashion. When I walked in I was stunned at all the autumnal colours of the clothing, browns, oranges, whites. They all looked so nice. I am a fan when it comes to turtle neck jumpers and this one stood out to me! The material is so soft and I love myself a good soft jumper. I wouldn't usually go for pale pinks but I thought why not try it a see. Along with this jumper I brought some dungarees and instantly thought they would look so cute together! Super cute!!

It isn't a really high neck its juts the right height that it shows off some of your neck also. It's a full length jumper with long sleeves and a really soft material. I have been wearing it so much because it is so soft and cosy and really gets me into the mood for winter and Christmas!

This jumper will go really well with, black jeans, leggings, skirts, dungarees, pinafores. And it defiantly a winter must have. It's such a good product for the price. I love bargains and Primark cause I go into Topshop and see jumpers and think I can get one very similar for a fraction of the price in Primark and the quality is also so good! This jumper cost me £6, yes £6 amazing right? And they did so many colours so I know I will be sure to go back and purchase them in the other colours. Also this will look so cute with a Fluffy collared coat and some cute jeans and boots! Defiantly a winter item that you need in you're wardrobe. I know some people may think that the quality of Primark's clothing isn't very good,  but I have been buying clothes from them for years and haven't had any problems. And for the price of their clothing you can't go wrong even if they don't last you very long. I can't express how much I love this jumper and how soft and cosy it is. I know this will see me thorough winter and get a lot of wear out of! So good!

This could be my next Holy grail cleanser - Micellar water

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

The cleanser I used to use none stop was the traditional Micellar Cleansing water and I re purchased it one after the other for around a year. Last week I ran out of this one so ended up taking a well earned trip to Superdrug. I love a good bargain when it comes to make up and facial products and this one was on offer for £4 for 400ml which I think is defiantly value for money!

My skin is so complicated, I have oily skin which I don't mind. But when it comes to acne, my skin is so weird! I can go through a time when it's really clear, to the odd spot to when I have quite a few. And I defiantly try different products to control this. The standard Micellar water is really good for cleansing the skin and getting rid of makeup and dirt.
This cleansing water is the new pure active range so this immediately caught my eye because I thought this could be really good and clear my skin. So this product claims to "Micellar Cleansing Water is an easy way to remove make-up, cleanse and purify the skin, eye area and lips in 1 step without rinsing. For combination to oily and sensitive skin". In my opinion it defiantly removes makeup with a couple of cotton pads. I have oily skin so this is a really good product for me because it removes any excess oil and leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh. Within the week I have been using it I have noticed that my skin has cleared up a lot and also my oil has reduced. If you have oily skin then this is the product for you!

The way I use this is in the evening I will either just use this to remove my make up or use a face wash as well. I apply this to a cotton pad and swipe it all over my face including my eyes and neck because this is really gentle and nice on the eyes. I will use it until the cotton pad is clean when removed off my face. I also use this on a cotton pad in the morning to remove any excess oil before I do my makeup. It leaves my skin feeling clean, fresh and smooth. If you want to clear your skin fast with a really good gentle product this is defiantly the one!

Great Foundation for Oily Skin - L'OREAL INFALLIBLE 24H-MATTE

If your looking for a really good drugstore foundation, that lasts a long time, gives great coverage and has a really good matte finish then this is the one! This is the Infallible 24H matte foundation.

I have oily skin and trying to find a foundation, that stays in place, gives great coverage and keeps my skin looking oil free all day is hard. I have tried and tested many foundations from Maybelline to MUA and I couldn't find any that suited my skin. The one foundation that I found really good for my oily skin, that you guys must have heard about many time before is the Estée lauder double wear. As seen on many YouTube channels and reviews it's one of the best foundations for oily skin and it definitely is. Its one of my favourites, but really if you don't have that much money to spend on makeup who wants to spend £28 on a foundation really?

So  I did is some research. I looked on google, YouTube and other sites to find dupes for this amazing foundation. The one that claimed to be the "ultimate" dupe for the £28 foundation was the L'Oréal Paris Infallible 24HR foundation £9.99. So I went into boots, to purchased this to try it out to see if it lives up to what it says. While looking I found the same one but the 24H matte version. I instantly thought this would be so much better because it will not only be a dupe for my favourite foundation but I will stay matte for longer, so I purchased it. This has now become my holy grail foundation.

In my opinion this is definitely a really good dupe for the Estée lauder Double wear. It provides the skin with a beautiful matte finish and give really good coverage, maybe not quite as good as the Estée lauder one because that's more of a thicker formula, where as this is runnier but its definitely close. It doesn't make the skin look cakey at all unlike the Estée lauder foundation, it provides an even coverage and looks natural. For a fuller coverage I recommend applying it will the buffing brush or a beauty sponge, that's what I find to be the best.

I use this foundation everyday in my daily makeup along with the collection lasting perfection concealer and this combination gives the ultimate coverage. I haven't warn it for 24H so I cant say it lives up to the 24H matte claim but on a busy day I would wear my makeup for around 12 hours and my skin defiantly stays matte with only a small amount of shine at the end of the day. It's a great all round foundation that I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good coverage and a long lasting foundation for an affordable price. And for a drugstore foundation that is priced at £7.99 you cant go wrong.

MUA Shimmer Highlighter

This has to be my favourite highlighter ever! MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter in Iridescent Gold.

I have tired many highlighters in the past and they have either been not very pigmented or have odd colour undertones. But this one was lovely.

I purchased this in my local Superdrug for £3!! Yes £3! For a drugstore highlighter this is amazing, the price is so affordable and the quality of this is spectacular.

I never really thought of using highlighters before because I have oily skin so I thought wearing it would make my skin look more oily. So I wanted to buy a cheaper one to try first just in case I didn't get on with it. This is the one I picked up because I had heard a lot of good reviews on this so wanted to give it a try. I tried it once a fell in love. It doesn't make my skin look oily, it makes it look glowy and fresh and I will definitely be re purchasing this when I hit pan. It is a natural colour and doesn't make it obvious that you are wearing highlighter, it gives you a fresh natural glow which I think is really good, because with other ones that I have tried, you can see the line where you have applied it and it looks nice but doesn't look right if you know what I mean! But this one doesn't at all its a fantastic product.

When you first go to use the product I would say there is a film type coating over it, I don't know if it's on all of them but I found this on mine. When you use it for the first time it isn't very pigmented. But after a couple of uses it becomes a lot more  pigmented and bright. I have inserted a picture of the colour pay off on my arm on the right. For a drugstore highlighter I think it is really good. Its not as good as some higher end ones like the Urban Decay ones but for £3 you can't go wrong!
I don't just use it as just my highlighter, if I'm having a day where I want a simple natural eye look I will go for this as an all over colour, because it adds a subtle shimmer to the eye while making your eyes look bright and awake.

This is definitely an all round fantastic highlighter and I am looking forward to trying more of MUA's products because they are a really good quality and affordable makeup brand!

Some of my favourite eye shadow palettes

Freedom palette -left / Revolution palette right
This is the Pro 12 palette by Freedom and the Essential Shimmer palette by Revolution.

I was shopping last year and we all love a good drugstore pallet don't we? So I took a trip into Superdrug to try and look for a new palette. I came across these two and instantly fell in love. Both of these where around £4 each I think and they were certainly good for money!

The freedom palette is a dupe for the Naked 3 palette and the colours in the freedom palette are so pigmented and for sure great quality eye shadows.

I have been able to create so many looks from casual daytime looks to evening clubbing looks. The palettes have lasted me ages so for sure are long lasting usage wise and also the once on the eyes and with a full look the colours last a very long time pigment wise and also they don't crease with a really good primer underneath, I definitely recommend both palettes if you are looking for a great cheap alternative for the naked palette and don't want to spend a fortune on them.

I am really fond of both the makeup brands and have purchased several items from both .Freedoms eye brow pomade and also Revolutions highlighters are some of my favourites. To see some of my looks head over to my twitter @MakeupBySLG and stay tuned for more reviews and blogs by me.
